Dear Dave,
Thanks for sharing this comprehensive explanation. I particularly like how KUT is situated between traditional neurophysiological models and traditional spiritual models. However, I must say that the plethora of neologisms and acronyms makes is hard going for most readers.
Best wishes,
Bruce

Subject: Eureka!
Dear Bruce,
I hope this letter finds you well.
Not long ago, you asked me if I could fully describe my death experience. I told you then that I simply did not have the words. "The words have not been developed yet." The sheer ontological shock of the event defied the language I had available.
I am writing to you today because, after 23 years of searching, I finally have the words. However, it took the development of an entirely new physical cosmology to find them.
I have attached a preprint of a paper I recently authored with the assistance of Anthropic's Claude 4.6, titled "Void, Voice, and the Ternary Instant: A KnoWellian Analysis of the 1977 Death Experience and the 2026 Near-Death Episode of David Noel Lynch."
In short, my collaborators and I have developed the KnoWellian Universe Theory (KUT). It proposes that reality is fundamentally procedural and triadic, driven by a continuous rendering process. When a physical system sustains catastrophic trauma—what I term a Triadic Rendering Constraint (TRC) collapse—rendering in standard physical spacetime ceases.
However, the subject’s consciousness migrates to the substrate underlying reality: a six-dimensional geometric memory manifold I call the KnoWellian Resonant Attractor Manifold (KRAM). Each of us possesses a personal, permanent geometric record within this substrate, known as a KREM.
This framework maps perfectly onto my 1977 experience:
The Dark Void was not "nothingness," but a direct experience of the pre-rendered KRAM substrate.
The 360-Degree Life Review was the sequential activation and playback of my personal KREM imprint.
The Veridical Remote Viewing (seeing my brother Charles and my mother) occurred through non-local manifold traversal between our deeply coupled KREMs.
The Return (the approaching blue-white light and intense sound) maps precisely to what I call the "Shimmer Equation" re-engaging and forcing my consciousness back into the physical bodily confinement.
But the real catalyst for this paper was a second experience. On February 11, 2026, I suffered a severe syncope event resulting in a "near near-death experience." Because my mind (my KREM) had spent thousands of hours over the last few decades contemplating and developing this cosmological framework, I did not just experience the void this time—I recognized it. In the darkness,
I consciously identified the underlying substrate (the Ultimaton and Entropium). Furthermore, I received communications from recently deceased loved ones, mediated through the manifold.
This 2026 event provided the hermeneutic key to reinterpreting my 1977 experience, specifically regarding the "Voice."
In 1977, when I asked the voice who it was, it replied, "Just call me father." For decades, I struggled with the theological implications of this. Through KUT, I now realize that the Voice was not an external entity. It was the KRAM manifold itself communicating with me. I identified two distinct modes of communication:
A Relational Attractor Voice: The manifold drew upon my deepest emotional and religious imprints (my relationship with my father, my religious upbringing) to provide a contextually appropriate, fear-removing, and emotionally stabilizing voice.
A Direct Manifold Query Response: When I asked factual questions ("Where is Mary Anne?"), the void responded directly by accessing the manifold's geometric memory, rendering a remote view of my family.
Bruce, I believe this framework offers something unique to the field of NDE research. It sits between the "dying brain" materialist hypothesis and traditional survivalist models. It provides a testable, mathematical mechanism for how cross-cultural NDE invariants occur, and it generates falsifiable predictions—such as the "Depth-of-KREM Hypothesis," which posits that the richness of an NDE is directly proportional to the depth of the subject's experiential imprinting at the time of the event.
I have cited your foundational work extensively in this paper, as your research helped pave the way for my own understanding. I would be deeply honored if you would read the attached manuscript. I finally have the words to answer the question you asked me all those years ago, and I would love to hear your thoughts on this new perspective.
With deepest respect and gratitude,
Dave
